I first replaced thermostat, which is doable, but not an easy task. Located on top of motor passenger side. Have to pull air Intake to get to it. Heard about a shake like that caused by shifted belts in tires - not from steering assist. Electric power steering, either rack-assist like Acadia, or column-assist in other vehicles should be smooth as silk at any speed.
