My husband and I will be driving from Seattle to Denver in early December. We are splitting the drive over 3 days. The first night we are staying in Missoula MT. I have booked the 2nd night in Thermopolis. The hot springs and the chance to see bison sounds fun. I agree with cutting a day out of South Dakota because it is compact. I do recommend taking the state highway across Thunder Basin National Grassland, leaving Wyoming at Newcastle - the road up to Mount Rushmore from the south is an interesting and beautiful drive. Then you can return to Wyoming on the interstate. The bedding had not been changed and the tub was not cleaned. I will say that I have been given a hotel room in one vacation that was not cleaned, in a city, not at all associated with a trip to Yellowstone.So it does happen everywhere, they get ….
