I wanted to understand if anyone has had success with obtaining their first H-1B stamp from India this year. My H-1B will be activated on 10/01/2021 (change of status from F-1 OPT) and would like to visit home; it has been more than two years ...For example you've checked the h1b data and you'd actually want 10k to be more inline with the salary. Ask for 15k because they will most likely negotiate further down anyway. Then if they offer 12k more to your salary you've made additional 2k more a year then you even intended and you can accept. Always consider other forms of compensation.My spouse went through the whole F1, H1b situation. I've worked with a ton of people on H1bs, and a lot of my family friends have gone through/are in the situation. I'm just a bit frustrated because it feels like I've encountered some hiring managers who immigrated to the US whose entire teams are H1b employees....
