"Fluorocarbon shock leader" is brand marketing. All leader material mono or fluoro has got some degree of elongation or shock absorption. Fluorocarbons like Blackwater, Yozuri, Ande, Blue label Seaguar, Momoi are your stouter less pliable fluoros.I have heard of more Stella's having issues and failing lately than any other of the high priced spinning reels. I don't know what sized you're looking for but the best left hand reel for us lefties is the saltiga 30l, which is the only left handed star drag made by daiwa, shimano, and others in the 2/0-3/0 range.
