If its e.g. 10/silver, you can bypass it using silver weapons (or weapons with +3 or more enhancement bonus). Basically, ability damage (what's dealt by the spiders) reduces the ability score that is damaged. Lesser Restoration heals one of your ability scores by 1d4. If you have two ability scores damaged for 5 points each, you need between 4 and 10, and an average of 4 casts of lesser restoration to clear it. Raithul.
